Shabbat Study: Timing the Seventh Day

Section 10 of 21

Section 10

Not in man's appointed time, based upon tradition and convenience that does not focus on Yahwah as the sovereign creator and provider in our lives. Not in an "appointed time" of a week operating apart from the synergy of the Creator's other time-keeping. Sandwiched in the middle of His double emphasis of verses 2 & 4 we find the subject of the emphasis.....the focal point, front and center in verse 3:

......The unit of appointed time known as the week, during which (in the beginning) established Yahwah Almighty alone as the Sovereign of creation, work, rest, and time-keeping!!

In His covenant with His people every week is a sign/proclamation/recognition every week of who He is as Creator and Sovereign of our lives, and if we are hedging it about, in the time appointed to be pure, set apart children. The six days of work culminating in the seventh day of rest in the manner/way and in the time appointed, is the corporate/national/unified sign of His people Yasharal that He is our Almighty Creator and we are His clean/undefiled people; keeping His appointed time of six days we shall work and on the seventh rest.

Yet, the world's system, with its focus on commerce and its accompanying convenient religion based upon traditions of men, has the appointed time of the week running independently in a calendar system created by man and void of its original creation-based synergy.

Even in the days we live in it is generally understood by worldly man and his religions that the calendar days are sub-units of weeks (or that weeks are composed of days); that months are sub-units of years (or that years are composed of months); that years are sub-units of a seven-year cycle (such as the "Jewish" shimita or Farmers Almanac seven-year rotation); that the shimita cycle is a sub-unit of the Jubilee, and finally that the Jubilees are sub-units of the 6000-year cycle of man leading up to the Shabath millennium. That being said, why is the week running independent from the month?

In the Creator's system of time-keeping, the weeks are supposed to be a sub-unit of the lunar month (lunations) cycle (the month is made up of weeks). However, the truth has been lost, and hence we see the validity of Father Yahwah's double emphasis to make sure that the appointed time of "six days you shall do all your work, and the seventh rest"....the appointed time of the week, is kept in the time appointed by our Sovereign Creator, as witnessed by His creation...the light of His faithful witness in the sky, the moon!

The sign of the covenant, the weekly Shabath, is the sign that we are looking to Him as Creator (as witnessed to by His creation) to be the sovereign guide of our lives. Not a commerce system (tradition) of man that is centered around a calendar that is void of the Creator and His representative creation.
