Shabbat Study: Timing the Seventh Day

35 Thus says Yahwah, who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances (Heb. "khaqath" - "enactments/ordinances") of the moon (Heb. "yarakh") and the stars for a light by night.....

In this scripture we see a few very important things happening. Yahwah says the purpose of the sun is for a light by day and the stars are for a light by the night, which is a testimony to Barashayath 1:14-16, showing the purpose of those two luminaries. However, if we lay this text on top of Barashayath/Genesis 1:14-16 and Mazmawarath/Psalms 104:19, then we see the unique purpose of the yarakh!

The word here translated "ordinances" in the KJV is the Hebrew word "khaqath." It is the plural of "khaq", which means "enactment" or "decree". The meaning of the root of khaq is "to hack". For example, as when a law was or is hacked (engraved) into stone, thus signifying that that statute is "set in stone" from the governing authority.....an enactment or a decree from an authority. Thus, Yahwah's khaqath are the decrees/ordinances/enactments set in stone as law for Yasharal. Yahwah proclaims to Yasharal through His prophet here that there are enactments or decrees that Yahwah has determined for the light of the yarakh, and that the purpose of the sun and the stars is for light.

Mazmawarath (Psalms) 81:3-4

3 Blow in month (Heb. "bakhadash" - "in khadash") trumpet (Heb. "shafar" - "horn") in full moon (Heb. "bakasah" - "in fullness of the yarakh"), for our festival-day (Heb. "layawam khagnu" - "for day of our festival"). 4 For this is a statute (Heb. "khaq" - "enactment") for Yasharal, a law (Heb. "mashpat" - "verdict/legal pronouncement") of the Alahim of Yayqab.

The word "kasah" is the Hebrew root word meaning, "plump". Kasah refers to the plumpness or fullness of the light of the yarakh (as Yahwah gave us the visible lights in the heavens for His time keeping) and is translated "full moon" in English. The word here that is translated "festival/feast" is the word "khaq" and specifically refers to the three times a year that the children of Yasharal are commanded to keep a "khaq", or festival to Yahwah. The muayd (appointed time) of the khaq (festival) occurs during the fullness of the light of the yarakh, and that timing of His appointed time is a "khaq" for Yasharal.....a verdict/pronouncement of Yahwah.

We see here that we have the muayd (appointed time) called "khaq" (the festival) being reckoned according to the fullness of the yarakh, occurring on the 15th day from the first visible light (sliver) of the yarakh.
