Shabbat Study: Timing the Seventh Day

Section 15 of 21

Section 15

After the renewal/khadash, and now that it is the first day of the new week and the new 29 or 30 day khadash cycle, Yahunathan went out into the field at the time appointed with Dawad, and a little lad was with him.

The time of the renewal was completed, the second evening had passed, and now it was the third day and Yahunathan and Dawad were meeting as arranged later in the day under the cover of the waning sunlight. The time of seclusion was over and now Dawad must flee for his life in the evening of the first day of the new khadash/month, after he has received word from Yahunathan. The fourth Shabath, which is also during the yarakh renewal time called "khadash", had come to its conclusion the day previously......

Now that we are beginning to understand how Yahwah's reckoning of time works, we're going to look at Shamwath (Exodus) Chapter 16 and we should be able to further understand some important events in their proper light.

Shamwath (Exodus) 16:1-6

1 "And they journeyed from Ayalim, and all the congregation of the children of Yasharal came to the wilderness of Sayan, which is between Ayalim and Sini, on the fifteenth day of the second month (Heb - "Khadash") after they departed from the land of Matsarim (Egypt). 2 Then the whole congregation of the children of Yasharal complained against Mashah and Ahrayan in the wilderness. 3 And the children of Yasharal said to them, 'Oh, that we had died by the hand of Yahwah in the land of Matsarim, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.' 4 Then Yahwah said to Mashah, 'Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My thurah or not. 5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.'"

The children of Yasharal have come out of Matsarim and Yahwah is going to teach them about His provision, and how it relates with the appointed time of "six days you shall do all your work, but the seventh day is the Shabath of Yahwah your Almighty (Alahayka)"....to test whether or not they will walk in His thurah. He has not given them the written thurah yet, and they have apparently lost the timing and keeping of His weekly Shabath. He's going to have to re-teach the Shabath to them and see whether or not they will be able to walk in His thurah....whether they can trust Him alone for their provision as they come out of the bondage of Matsarim; that system that was (and is) void of Yahwah's reckoning of time and its accompanying provision.

It is the fifteenth day of (from) the second khadash (of the year).....the first day of the third "week" (Heb. "Shabay" - "sevened" or "week") since the second "first sliver" of the year........
